Her epic fall inspired me to bring along something functional & stylish (well, maybe not as stylish as the Ruthie Davis she was wearing) on my Maldives trip. So I brought my new RHEA Duos Candy Bar sandals with me to Conrad Maldives.
Other than my runners, I counted on my RHEA sandals to keep me safe through the whole trip, thinking 90% of the time my feet would be wet. After all, what’s more to do in Maldives other than playing on the beach and lazing by Conrad Maldives’ infinity pool with an incredible view of the endless, glittery sea?
The outsole of my Rhea sandals is trimmed to give a sleek design, and it has enough cushion to keep me comfortable all day.
The right shoes aren’t just stylish, comfortable and durable, they also keep feet firmly on the ground, protecting from the slips and falls that send millions of people to the hospital each year. That’s the premise behind Rhea Footwear, which is designed to take technology and style to the streets one thoughtfully-designed pair at a time. Now, men and women can slip into shoes that feel as good as they look, while enjoying unprecedented security on all surfaces, from slippery floors at poolside parties to rain-slick concrete. The outsole of every Rhea shoe features an exclusive rubber compound with a patented micro-channel tread pattern that pushes liquids away from the bottom of the sole to provide more sole-to-surface contact and prevent slipping and sliding. This season you can stride in secure style!
Booting it across the gravel driveway before your daughter wipes out on her skateboard ramp? Fear not superhero mama, RHEA has your back with their patented micro channel treads. Cool to look at and even more cool knowing you won’t wipeout wearing these. RHEA was founded by Cornell students who were slipping and sliding all over Ithaca, New York – have you been there? It is really cold, wet and slippery up there!Read more...
When these pretty little mint and blush sandals showed up in the mail, I was inspired by them to make a swimsuit coverup. I've been hanging on to this palm print fabric for a few weeks and had no idea what to make with it, but as soon as I saw these sandals the idea was sparked. Plus, it's a super easy dress to make, so snag yourself a pair of Rhea's pretty sandals, make yourself a coverup, and you're ready for summer!
Spring has finally sprung and with it, sandal season. Just in time, California-based footwear start-up Rhea has engineered a line of sandals specifically for traction on slick, wet surfaces. Through a year of research and development Rhea refers to as the "Grip Project," Rhea came up with a "Griptech" rubber compound similar to the rubber used in space shuttles for maximum grip and durability. The treads are designed to push liquids away for increased contact between the sole and the dock, dinghy, or cockpit.Read more...
The sandals use Rhea’s fully patented outsole technology. One of the videos on Rhea Footwear’s Kickstarter page demonstrates this technology against other sandals. The sandals are offered in four different colors – burgundy, navy, green, and black. The sandals also use a midsole cushion to provide extra comfort and a special fabric infused within the strap to provide extra strength.
“Currently there are no other sandals in the market that utilize this outsole technology. Sandals benefit so much from this technology because you are likely to step on wet and slippery surfaces while wearing them,” says CFO John Lee.Read more...
